Omotola Steps Out For Her New Movie, ‘Amina’.

International Movie, Amina, directed by UK-based Nigerian, Christian Ashaiku, was premiered on Wednesday, October 17, in London. Attending the event was the lead actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, who played, Amina, a woman who suffered from psychosis. The movie also features British actors Wil Johnson and Vincent Regan, and Ghanaian actor, Van Vicker.

The synopsis describes the movie, Amina, to be a deeply emotional story of loss, love and redemption which follows the journey of a gifted young woman whose life turns into disarray after an unplanned pregnancy leaves her totally devastated and bewildered. Unsure and vulnerable, she fights single-handedly to raise her child, but stumbles and falls at every turn into deeper emotional turmoil that eventually leaves her lost, lonely and unstable in the care of a mental institution.

Now, I have seen the trailer to this movie, and in that two-minute clip, you can see the brilliance of Omotola’s performance shine through. And the uniqueness of the storyline – a psychological thriller – is a testimony of the great leaps that Nollywood is making in the direction of fresh, challenging, intriguing material.

But, hey, I’m deviating from the main item of this post, which is the star actress, Omotola, looking sizzling in her hot pink getup. So, if the star quality is in the dress, the booty or in the performance, then the woman is made.

  1. The dress is awful… The cut; the zipper; the disney-princess-Rapunzel-meets-ankara-fabric is just a big NO! Better luck next time Omo T.
