Forbes Highest Paid Male Models, and the top earns WAY LESS than Gisele Bundchen

PicturesThey say it’s a man’s world, but that definitely isn’t the case when it comes to modeling.

Forbes has just released its list of the highest paid male models, and their earnings pale in comparison to the hefty paychecks their female counterparts take in.

Coming in at No. 1 is Sean O’Pry, who has appeared in campaigns for H&M, Versace and Calvin Klein, and earned $1.5 million from September 2012 to September 2013. That’s nothing compared with the top earning female model Gisele Bündchen, who made a whopping  $42 million in 2013, according to Forbes.

In fact, the combined income of the top ten highest paid models of the year, which totals $8 million is still far less than the Brazilian beauty’s net worth, and is only slightly higher than the second highest paid female model, Miranda Kerr, who earned an estimated $7.2 million.

Of course, Bündchen and Kerr have boosted their runway careers with business savvy projects, like Bündchen’s lingerie line and accessories collection with strategic partners, and Kerr’s launch of her skincare line, Kora Organics. Compare that with O’Pry, who sees the bulk of his money come from fragrance contracts with Jil Sander’s Ultrasense and Viktor & Rolf’s Spicebomb.

Coming in at No. 2, David Gandy, who took home $1.4 million, also seems to be by building a name for himself outside of modeling. In addition to striking poses for Banana Republic and Hugo Boss, the 33-year-old is a spokesperson for Johnnie Walker Blue and contributes to British Vogue and GQ.

And if he and other models continue to follow the well-heeled footsteps of their female counterparts off of the runway, they’ll likely inch closer and closer to the big bucks Bündchen and other leggy ladies earn.

They won’t, not in this lifetime. Look at what the No1 male model earns in comparison with the No2 female model.
Men don’t sell fashion, women do. Men are not sexually exploited as women. The magazine cover image of a sexy dressed Helen Mirren would sell far more than a naked one of Brad Pitt
