The Expendables has a spin-off…and the movie is titled ‘ExpendaBelles’

female-expendablesYes, you read the headline correctly. Millennium hopes to capitalize on the success of Expendables by launching an estrogen-fueled romp known as ‘ExpendaBelles,’ with a script co-penned by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, the writing duo responsible for feminine comedy titles like Legally Blonde, She’s The Man, and The Ugly Truth.

Hollywood leading ladies Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich are in talks to join the cast of the movie, alongside Meryl Streep, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Avi Lerner will produce the film and has already announced that he is after a female director to work on the script. Speaking to the Standart News, he said: ”There will be battles, special and visual effects and stunts – the spectacle will be equivalent to what Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and Jean Claude Van Damme have done … Two excellent screenwriters are already working on the picture. Now we are in search of a female director”.

Diaz has experience in action movies after starring in the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ films, while Streep took on a role in ‘The River Wild’, and Jovovich plays a stalwart of the ‘Resident Evil’ series.

Details about the ‘Expendabelles’ have been under tight-lip until now, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
