‘Men are put on this earth to be polygamous.’ – Akon

Grammy Awards ArrivalsThe divorce rate in most countries, the US especially, is pretty alarming. Although there are probably a ton of reasons why relationships are failing, recording artist and producer Akon believes that a huge reason is that men weren’t created to be monogamous. He says to TMZ:

“If America adopted that [polygamy] culture there would be less domestic disputes. The average guy in the world has a main girl and they got a side chick. And then they got a jumpoff.”

He went on to say that this difficulty with being monogamous stems from men’s “natural” desire to “breed.”

“At the end of the day as a male we are natural breeders by nature. We can’t even escape it if we wanted to. Let’s say you put 1,000 guys on one corner and one bad chick walk passed. You gon’ see 1,000 heads go, ‘Damn.’ They don’t even know why they doing it. They’re natural breeders. It’s in their genes, they can’t help it. Even if you’re walking with your girl and you’re holding her hand and you see a bad chick walk by and she lookin’ at you like, ‘Boy you better not look,’ you gonna wanna look so bad and you don’t even know why that urge is there, but you’re a natural breeder. It’s what we do. Men are put on this earth to breed and the reason why God put multiple women on this earth is for that.”

Oh, and if you’re stomach isn’t turning yet, he also said that women should learn to “scientifically understand men” to foster better chances for relationship success.

“When looking at reproduction, there’s always going to be more reproducing that actual reproducers themselves. There’s more to it scientifically, but as humans, women need to take more time to understand men. If they can do that I think things will work out better for us.”

As for marriage…

“Marriage just solidifies a relationship between a man and a woman spiritually under God’s eyes.  So, I can be spiritually attached to her, and still be spiritually attached to [another woman], and still be spiritually attached to [another woman.]

“Now, when you’re talking about commitment, understanding, loyalty—that’s a different conversation because what happens now is that people are having relationships, boyfriend and girlfriend, and treating it like it’s actually marriage. You’re just dating. The whole purpose of dating is so you can date this one, and date this one, and date this one until you find out, ‘Okay, this is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. Okay now, I commit to what’s called marriage.’ You find that one woman that supplies everything that you desire in a woman, of course that will be a motivation to stick with that one woman, but I don’t know no one woman that can satisfy every man’s one need. It’s impossible. Just like there’s not one man that can satisfy a woman’s every need, but women aren’t built to breed like that or mate with more than one partner. Women aren’t built that way, men are.”

Wow! I’m just stunned speechless at the way some people think. But I guess, to each his own. What are your thoughts, my people?

Akon, say whaaaat? You must be kidding me right now! Oga sperminator, let us know when you’re done breeding o. Now I understand why you have so many children. A ‘jump off’??? What’s that?

Guy, you need a re-orientation but I doubt if that would happen in dis lifetime, you’re so messed up right now. Ok I give up and I say confidently this…. Akon’s a lost cause! O maa se o, what a pity!

Opinions, opinions! He has expressed his and I kinda agree with him. Kinda but not completely. Its in man’s natural instinct to be polygamous, to gather as much ladies as he can. Call that the herd instinct if you want, it increases his chances to put foward the best genes. Men has been polygamous from the very first time men appeared, for thousands of years so you should understand why a few hundred years (less than 60 years for 80% of Africans) of monogamy is being seen as pesky.

However, we now live in a modern society and we call ourselves ‘modern’ men so we should be able to abide by society’s precepts, monogamy being one of them.

Oh blimey! In the words of the hilarious character, Ali in the ‘mind your language series’; here I am in my naivete thinking its only Akon that needs a re-orientation. Oops, my bad! How very wrong I was. Lol!

Its not enough to write off every idea or opinion conflicting with yours as invalid, crappy or needing of re-orientation. Akon presented his point, I presented mine, so why don’t you present yours? Why do we need re-orientation?

Wait! Did you even read the second part of my comment?

Hello Michael, I don’t believe we’ve been properly introduced yet. Well, my name’s Yemi and am not one to wage a war of words on social media on anyone. My principle is that everyone’s entitled to their own opinions; which I do respect but will not necessarily accept.

Correct me if am wrong but I think you took a swipe at me in the first few lines of your post when you vented ‘ opinions opinions, he’s said his and I kinda agree with him’.

I was only airing my views on the subject and since we clearly have differing views, I don’t expect you to understand. But here’s the thing; let’s call a truce and move on already, life’s way tooo short to start having confrontations with faceles individuals on social media. Don’t you agree?

        So then, truce? Lol!

      • Very Diplo-matic! 😀 See wнaт I did there?

Wow! Just…..wow! You read the the ‘kinda agree with him’ part but not the ‘not completely’ part huh? Nice! Well, if you have read it, it would have become clear to you that I didn’t write that as a reply to you. Yeah, life is too short to quibble with faceless ‘individuals’ online.

Or maybe you just have nothing to say, just saying.

Akon just reduced men to nothing more than thoughtless animals who have no emotions but go on instinct rather than think. It’s surprising that this sperminator hasn’t mentioned the fact that many of these “breeding” men try their possible best not to father children and if they do, refuse to take responsibility for them.
