Unbelievable! A Baptist Church plans to protest at Paul Walker’s funeral

Paul-Walker-WBCA lot of people are still in complete shock and utter sadness after news broke this past weekend that Fast and Furious star Paul Walker passed away in a fatal car crash. Reports said that Walker, 40, passed after the Porsche he was riding in on the way back from a charity event slammed into a light pole and burst into flames. But while we continue to feel sadness and mourn the actor and gorgeous man, the Westboro Baptist Church is preparing to show up at his funeral and picket it, according to The Huffington Post.

Of course, the Westboro Baptist Church is apparently a small hate group known for its extreme views and anti-gay protests at the funerals of those in the military, but according to the Huffington Post, they’ll protest Walker’s funeral because he ”taught a nation to be fast & furious.”

The church has taken to social media this past weekend to confirm that they will picket the funeral, and to share their extremely misguided reasoning behind the actor’s death:

PERFECT, @tmz! Paul Walker taught a nation to be fast & furious. He died that same way. #GodIsNotMocked #WhosNext?

It’s always the people who speak evil and do the most hateful things that like to act like God is “on their side” and condones their behavior. But anyone who takes pleasure out of someone losing their life, and a child losing a parent, is as evil and backwards as it gets and needs to stop using the name of the Lord to back up their bull. Do the world a favor and go far, far away already WBC…

In 2011, they protested at a gay soldier’s funeral. The soldier’s dad wanted to take them to court/took them to court, but either the DA or the Judge said it was an unreasonable case as the Westboro people were simply expressing themselves and they have a right to that.

      • No one’s questioning their right. What we’re outraged about is the morality of their actions. Paul Walker’s family have a right to grieve him, and his funeral is a very inappropriate place to come vent your frustrations. In fact, heir entire campaign is very inappropriate and crappy.
