The Things They Say…about Gender Equality

‘I don’t believe in gender equality. I do not believe that God made man and woman to be equal in any way. I believe that in every organised institution, there is always a head and an assistant. It doesn’t mean that one should take the other for granted, or disrespect the other. I believe the husband is the head of the home and the wife is an assistant.

‘My husband is a pilot, I have flown with him several times and I understood that here is a captain and a co-pilot. They are both responsible for the passengers’ lives. But when there is a final decision to make, it is up to the captain to make it. He is more experienced and the one with the responsibility. But any mature captain will not ignore his co-pilot because the co-pilot is not a cabin attendant. He is there for a reason. It just depends on how you understand and play your roles.

‘I believe women should understand this. When a woman starts a struggle for power tussle with him, it tends to cause friction in the home. The woman should give the man the respect as the head of the home and also prove herself as a worthy co-pilot. He needs to see you as a reliable co-pilot.’

When asked in a recent interview with Punch how a woman can have a successful marriage, actress Omotola said she doesn’t believe in gender equality and women should understand that men are the heads of the family. The actress has been married for 18 years, so I think she qualifies to advise other women.celebs 85

The Things They Say: 183

“I love my daughter so much and … I want to have more. But I’m not going the route my mom did. She is crazy! When I was giving birth, I looked at her and said, ‘I’m going to buy you a medal, you deserve a medal for this, six times – you’re crazy.'”

Kim Kardashian says she loves being a mom, and hails her mother, Kris Jenner as the ultimate mother for birthing six children.

She continued, “I don’t think I can do more than three tops. That would be my absolute top top tops. I even contemplate should North be an only child? But then I contemplate all the … fun experiences I had, so I might have to tough it out.”SPL_kim_kardashian_kab_140226_16x9_992

“We Must Celebrate 100 Years.” – Charles Novia

The following article was written by Charles Novia on his official website – charlesnoviadaily.com. Read and ponder.

Marketing-the-Nigeria-CenteThose poor kids killed by the brainless Boko Haramists will have their death avenged by a Higher Power whose justice cannot be questioned.

However, I wholly disagree with those asking why the Centenary Celebrations should continue this week because of the death of those poor souls. Let us celebrate a nation at crossroads. A failed state finding the right path to success. A stupid citizenry which would castigate its leaders from their hallowed chambers of political and social inertia and yet do nothing, absolutely nothing when the call is made to start a revolution. Untitled2“I’m definitely getting married in 2014. It’s a must! It’s necessary. All my friends are married with kids and I am ready to do that now, and God willing it is with the girl I am with now.”
Former Plantashun Boyz member, Faze says 2014 is the year he’s settling down.

‘I Don’t Expect Beyoncé To Take Accountability.’ – Mother Of Matthew Knowles’ Son Speaks Out

PicturesIn her first televised appearance, AlexSandra Wright, mother of Matthew Knowles’ son, opened up to Inside Edition about her constant struggle to make ends meet because her 4-year-old son Nixon’s father simply refuses to support their son.

“To turn your back on a child, to me, is unconscionable,” said the former “Scrubs” actress. “This is his child and it’s a boy. I can’t prove it any harder. It’s been five years.”

The single mom adds that she’s been faithful with adhering to the legal stipulations of their child support agreement, yet Mathew still refuses to hold up his end of the deal.

“I’ve never spoken. I’ve been respectful of our relationship. I’ve never talked about it. I’ve never stepped out of the lines…It just feels like he’s a little bit of an outlaw. He’s just chosen to not acknowledge any of it.” (more…)

‘I Am Not A Role Model.’ – Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson 25This seems to have become a mantra amongst celebrities. First Rihanna, now Hollywood actress, Scarlett Johansson.

The Avengers star has spoken out in the aftermath of her SodaStream controversy to urge fans not to hold her up as a “role model”. The actress faced heavy criticism last month (Jan14) over her decision to promote the Israel-based drink maker, which has factories in the contested West Bank region.

She subsequently stepped down from her role as an ambassador for Oxfam, as the organisation’s pledge to oppose “all trade from Israeli settlements” clashed with her new endorsement deal.

Johansson has now admitted she hates the pressure of public life and doesn’t want fans to see her as a role model, telling America’s Dazed magazine: (more…)

The Things They Tweet…about the 20 girls abducted by Boko Haram

Nine-Soldiers-Feared-Dead-In-Fresh-Boko-Haram-Ambush01On Tuesday Feb 11th, 20 young women were abducted by Boko Haram members after a raid at the village of Konduga in Borno State. Two weeks later, nothing has been heard about the abducted women.

Former VP Atiku Abubakar took to twitter some hours ago asking the President to show concern about the missing women. Security agencies aren’t saying anything. Are they even looking for them?

The Things They Say…About God’s Grace being sufficient for their Sins

“I don’t have a problem doing what I do but I think it’s because of my job and I know most Christians would not understand. But I just believe that this is what I have to do to get attention especially when it comes to my job and I just believe His grace is enough for me. He loves me more than my nakedness. If you see God as a father and he sees you as a daughter, He would not because of your nakedness want to ruin you or kill you. That is how I see God. He understands me. He hates me but he loves me at the same time.”

Maheeda, whose real name is Caroline Sam, says her going naked as a born again Christian would never make God love her less. She says His Grace is sufficient for her. Currently promoting her music, Maheeda in an interview with Encomium said she doesn’t have any problems exposing herself.

The Things They Say: 181

‘I’ve been thinking, how come my tears are so close to the surface? And I’ve come to feel it has to do with age. I have become so wonderfully, terribly aware of time, of how little of it I have left; how much of it is behind me, and everything becomes so precious.’

She may not look anywhere near her 76 years but Jane Fonda, who starred opposite Jennifer Lopez in Monster-in-law, says she is well aware of her age. The Hollywood legend – who has made her career in an industry which isn’t exactly kind to aging actresses – admits she has been brought to tears on more than one occasion recently as she comes to terms with her own mortality.

I am not aged, but on some level, I can relate with her sentiments.Jane-Fonda_1565410c
