A Prayer For The Christmas Season

a-christmas-prayer-300x231As ethical as any theology can be, there’s no major opposition that has stopped the slaughter of chickens for Christmas. Chickens just have to die for men to celebrate.

Wow! One can either be the celebrant or the chicken, the eater or the eaten. In this season I pray, Dear Lord, by your abundant mercies and Providence, that none of my friends and I shall serve as chickens for any celebrant.

Rather, we shall eat the chickens – the wealth of nations; strangers shall favour us and helpers shall arise from around the world to bless us in Jesus’ name, Amen!

This organization takes its name from the prison number given to Mr. Mandela when he was incarcerated on Robben Island. Initially created to support global HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, Mandela realized he would need to engage the support of people and the attention of the youth by locking in the support of high-profile ambassadors. These ambassadors are committed to supporting 46664s values and taking it forward to find new hands to lift the burdens. Two such supporters for this organization include: Alicia Keys and Beyoncé (who was the first artist to perform at a 46664 event). As 46664 continued in its work, its social emphasis naturally expanded to include Mandela’s humanitarian legacy through activities and projects as well as confronting issues of social injustice.

Even the Pope is cool with Public Breastfeeding

bbf0bc27-21ab-46fd-9691-1e3f857a4270_457538349Anyone who looks at public breastfeeding as a sexual shame-fest should have a word with Pope Francis. The forward-thinking pontiff, in an interview with Italian newspaper La Stampa this week, gave the controversial practice his holy stamp of approval.

In a discussion with reporter Andrea Tornielli about hunger, the pope shares a story about how he’d recently seen a mother standing behind the public barriers at the Vatican, holding a baby who had begun to cry. (more…)

Mariah Carey under negative backlash for performing for and accepting cash from Angolan dictator

celebs 66First, they blasted her for performing in Nigeria, which is apparently ‘the world’s center of bank fraud & human trafficking’. Now Mariah Carey is taking heat again, this time for playing an exclusive concert for Angolan dictator, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, “one of Africa’s chief human rights violators and most corrupt tyrants,” according to The Human Rights Foundation.

The singer reportedly picked up $1 million for the performance. She belted out her hit songs last Sunday (Dec 15th) for the dictator in a two-hour concert at a gala for the Angolan Red Cross. Carey seemed unaware of the controversy with playing for the oppressive ruler and appeared smiling with Dos Santos’s family before saying, “I am happy to be here in this room and I am honored to share this show with the President of Angola.” (more…)
