According to the President of the Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Tim Anosike, the Niger Bridge which connects Onitsha, Anambra State to Asaba, Delta State, is on the verge of collapse.
Anosike said yesterday that the bridge might collapse much earlier than forecasted by its designers. He said this during a speech he gave in the bustling commercial city of Onitsha in Anambra.

Seems some people are going to be having themselves a white Christmas this year for the first time in so long. For the first time in over 100 years, a winter storm has brought snow to Cairo, Egypt, a city known for its heat and sand.
According to local reports, it happened over night and unexpectedly on Wednesday Dec. 11th. An official of Egypt’s Meteorological centre said it was first time in decades since the last snowfalls and it took residents of Cairo suburbs by surprise. But most are delighted because they have never seen snow before. They took to Twitter to post their amazement in words and shared pictures
The snowfall has forced the closure of the country’s ports and several other businesses for days now.
Ah, snow. If only we had that in Nigeria. 🙂

It’s been revealed that Paul Walker’s younger, lookalike brother has been asked to step in for him to film the final scenes for Fast & The Furious 7.
The 40-year-old star was on a break from filming at the time of his death in a shocking car crash two weeks ago. And in a poignant tribute to the star, MailOnline reveals Cody Walker, 25, who has worked as a movie stuntman, is set to take his place in the latest installment of the hit franchise.
Following Paul’s death, Universal Pictures announced it was their ‘duty’ to shut down production – adding they were ‘dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew, and filmmakers.’
A source close to production said: ‘Producers had a string of meetings right after Paul’s death. They soon realized they needed someone who looked like Paul to finish the movie and that’s when they approached his nearly identical brother, Cody.’ (more…)

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Fimibama, was the man the public saw step out of the gleaming, black, tinted-glassed Peugeot car that was part of the cavalcade that had just glided to a stop before the international airport in Abuja. President Fimibama stood, a broad-shouldered, tall man who looked very presidential. He tugged at the hem of the expensive-looking, hand-tailored dark suit he was wearing over a pristine white silk shirt and discreet silk tie, before lifting a hand to wave at the people.
A cheer erupted amongst the crowd as the president acknowledged them, all the while walking slowly toward the interior of the airport. Phone cameras flashed, and only the brooding presence of the dark-suited men flanking the president discouraged the exuberant rush of some of the people to his side. The news station cameras documenting the moment for a live or later broadcast on the television captured him moving gracefully, but with purpose, not in a hurry but not wasting time.
“God bless you, Mr. President!” someone yelled, and the cry was carried on by a number of people. (more…)

The superstar Beyoncé shocked the music world and her doting fans when she randomly released her self-titled fifth studio album on Thursday last night. The Internet went wild, as there was no promo, marketing or any other sort of indicator that forewarned of the release. Instead of going through publicists and whatnot, Beyoncé simply informed fans of the release herself, directing them to iTunes where they could purchase and download the album. The chief of police in a small Ohio town is taking a big swipe at Kanye West, warning the megastar to, “Check yourself, before you wreck yourself.”
This comes just days after West compared the danger of his work to that of police officers and soldiers in war, telling a radio host he puts his life “literally” on the line each day. After all, the rapper noted, he could slip on stage.
“I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, or like war or something,” he said in an interview over the weekend with the radio show Saturday Night Online. “You’re literally going out to do your job every day, knowing that something could happen to you.” (more…)

TMZ is reporting that Khloe Kardashian has officially filed for divorce from her husband of four years, Lamar Odom. Papers were filed by Khloe’s divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, and as previously reported, cite “irreconcilable differences.”
When Khloe Kardashian dropped the Odom from her last name on Twitter, we should’ve known this was coming. It’s difficult to tell exactly how long Khloe and Lamar have been experiencing marital problems, but their issues definitely became more visible once Lamar’s alleged drug abuse issues began to taint his image in the public eye. Though Khloe took to social media with a statement reaffirming her commitment to making her marriage work and vowing to “ride til’ the end,” it appears that the wheels on that ride may have just given out. According to TMZ, it’s believed that the youngest Kardashian sister has filed for divorce. (more…)
